The terms, plainly.

Last updated 20 July 2026

These are the terms between you and People Work Life Ltd (England; based in Ascot, UK) when you use Shadow Work Guide — on either shadowworkguide.app or inagoodway.app. By creating an account you accept them.

What this is — and isn't

Shadow Work Guide is a structured reflective tool for shadow work — learning, journalling, and guided self-inquiry with an AI companion, plus tools for trained facilitators. It is not therapy, not counselling, not medical or psychological treatment, and not a crisis service. The AI can be wrong, and nothing it says is professional advice or a diagnosis. High-intensity process work is deliberately excluded from the app and belongs with a trained human. If you are in significant distress, please work with a qualified professional. If you are in crisis, contact Samaritans (116 123), Shout (text SHOUT to 85258), NHS 111 (option 2) in the UK, or your local emergency services — more on the safety page.

You must be 18 or over

Shadow Work Guide is for adults only. By creating an account (or entering the demo) you confirm you are 18 or over. If we learn an account belongs to someone under 18, we will close it and delete its data.

Your account

Keep your credentials safe — the work behind them is yours alone. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at once if you think someone else has access to it.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use Shadow Work Guide to:

  • break the law, or infringe anyone else's rights;
  • attempt to access other people's accounts or data, probe or disrupt the service, or reverse-engineer it;
  • misuse the AI companion — for example to generate harmful, unlawful, or abusive content;
  • present the app to your own clients as therapy or clinical treatment, if you facilitate with it;
  • resell the service outside the facilitator features built for that.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. Where fair, we will warn you first.

Your content

Everything you write stays yours. You give us only the limited licence we need to store and process it to run the service for you, as described in the privacy policy. Your reflections are never used for advertising and are not used to train AI models. Facilitators see a participant's AI sessions only if that participant switches sharing on.

Facilitator subscriptions

Facilitator plans are billed through Stripe on the terms shown at checkout. You can cancel at any time; access continues to the end of the paid period.

The service

Shadow Work Guide is provided as it stands. We work to keep it available and safe, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may change or withdraw features. If we ever close the service, we will give you reasonable notice and a way to take your data with you.

Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Beyond that, our liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for decisions you take based on what the AI companion says — it is a reflective tool, not an adviser — nor for the professional conduct of facilitators, who are independent practitioners.

Ending things

You can stop using the app at any time, and delete your account and everything in it from your Profile page.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction — though if you live elsewhere in the UK you may also rely on your local courts and consumer protections.

Changes

If we change these terms in any way that matters, we will say so plainly in the app before the change takes effect.
